For each visitor to our Web page, our web server automatically recognizes only the consumer’s domain name, but not the e-mail address (where possible).

We collect only the domain name, but not the e-mail address of visitors to our Web page, the e-mail addresses of those who communicate with us via e-mail, aggregate information on what pages consumers access or visit, information volunteered by the consumer, such as survey information and/or site registrations.

The information we collect is used for internal review and is then discarded, used to improve the content of our Web page.

PRIVACY PROTECTION PROCEDURES

Protecting your information is important to us. We have implemented appropriate physical, technical and organizational measures, such as using industry-accepted encryption for transmission of credit card information, to help keep your information secure, accurate, current, and complete. In addition, all OAR employees with access to personal information obtained on the OAR website are bound to adhere to this policy as part of their contract with OAR.

OAR protects your personal information in a variety of ways. For certain services, such as our e-newsletter and online forums, only minimal personal information is required, such as email addresses. In addition, personal information provided to our run and donations sites is encrypted. We also protect that account information by placing it on a secure portion of our site that is only accessible by authorized personnel. In addition, IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

All information provided to OAR is transmitted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption. SSL is a proven coding system that lets your browser automatically encrypt, or scramble, data before you send it to us. We also protect account information by placing it on a secure portion of our site that is only accessible by certain qualified OAR employees.

Unfortunately however, no data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of such information. Any such transmission is done at your own risk.

NON PROFIT STATEMENT

CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE ORGANIZATION FOR AUTISM RESEARCH ARE TAX-DEDUCTIBLE TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW. OAR IS A NON-PROFIT 501©(3) ORGANIZATION, TAX ID#54-2062167, INCORPORATED IN THE COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA. As provided for under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, a copy of OAR’s financial statement is available from the State Division of Consumer Affairs in the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services upon request.

DONOR PRIVACY

The Organization for Autism Research does not share, sell or trade any online or offline donor information, be it telephone numbers, e-mail addresses, or mailing addresses with other organizations or individuals of any kind. The only e-mails or mailings you will receive will be in regards to information you have requested or inquired.

With respect to Ad Servers: We do not partner with or have special relationships with any ad server companies.

From time to time, we may use customer information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our privacy notice. If our information practices change at some time in the future we will contact you before we use your data for these new purposes to notify you of the policy change and to provide you with the ability to opt out of these new uses, we will post the policy changes to our website to notify you of these changes and provide you with the ability to opt out of these new uses. If you are concerned about how your information is used, you should check back at our website periodically.
