Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC)

Worldwide non-profit organization whose mission is to “ensure inclusive, quality educational opportunities for all military-connected children affected by mobility, transition, deployments and family separation.”

Military Kids Connect

Website for military kids, tweens, and teens to share their experiences and learn healthy coping strategies for the challenges unique to life as a military dependent. The site includes games, articles, and message boards where young people can connect with one another.

Military OneSource

Service provided by the Department of Defense for active-duty, Guard, and Reserve service members and their families to provide support for any issue, including education, relocation, parenting, and stress.

  • Military OneSource – Education Directory for Children with Special Needs This tool provides information to military families with children with special needs so that families can make informed decisions regarding education when moving to a new school district. Directories are included for both Early Intervention (EI) and School-Age children.
  • Military OneSource – Online Learning This section of the Military OneSource website provides online learning modules to help families understand a variety of topics including EFMP, guardianship, IDEA, IEPs, and post-secondary transitions.
  • Military OneSource – Plan My Move The “Plan My Move” tool allows families to create a customized checklist of tasks to complete prior to a relocation, including tasks related to relocating with a family member enrolled in the EFMP.
